New Job, Broader Horizons

All last week I was studying react in order to revamp my dating website. I want to make it more attractive. I get about 20k hits on it monthly without doing any advertising, but left the interface with a lot to be desired. I was more focused on getting all of the functionality. Come to think of it, it was my first big project with one of my favorite frameworks - Web2py.

While attending college, I picked up a job as a Tier 1 IT tech. This job got me a bit of investment money and helped ease the burden of bills. I kind of enjoy networking, but coding is much more fun for me.

Friday morning I had an interview with a job that I applied for a few days ago and was delighted to find out that I was selected for the job and will be starting next week. Excellent. The languages that they use are Asp.NET for the backend and Vue JS for the front end. I'm not sure about mobile. I know a decent amount of C# enough to make learning Asp less cumbersome, but I know less javascript so that is what I have been focusing on this weekend.

In the next few weeks, I will get a solid grasp on Vue and use that knowledge to make my dating website more attractive. This is going to look pretty sweet on my resume in a year or two.

Stay Icy
